Investment Strategy


Oaktree Specialty Lending Corporation’s (“Oaktree Specialty Lending”) investment objective is to generate current income and capital appreciation through investments in first and second lien loans, unsecured and mezzanine loans, and preferred equity. To achieve this objective, we lend to companies with significant asset or enterprise value and seasoned management teams.

We employ a disciplined and long-term focused approach to investing, with a view towards maximizing risk-adjusted returns across market cycles.

We plan to build a diverse portfolio that seeks to generate attractive returns by investing in opportunities where Oaktree Specialty Lending is well qualified to help borrowers secure customized financing solutions to meet their particular needs. We also seek to opportunistically take advantage of dislocations in financing markets and situations that may benefit from Oaktree Capital Management, L.P.’s (“Oaktree”) deep credit and structuring expertise.

Our origination, credit selection and deal structuring capabilities leverage the breadth and expertise of our manager, Oaktree.
